International Steinway pianist Steve Hall joined forces with fellow pianist Steve Donovan on his 2003 release BOTH SIDES NOW, which featured their joint piano skills backed by lush orchestration. For their second pair-up, the pianists lose the orchestration in favor of mellifluous pieces that highlight their combined solo piano strengths. The song repertoire focuses on songs with a dreamy flair, ranging from the sublime "A Day Without Rain" from Enya and "Believe" from the movie "The Polar Express" (originally performed by Josh Groban) to classical pieces from Gershwin and Beethoven. Both Hall and Donovan share similarities in playing style; both focusing on straightforward, elegant renditions of the songs at hand. Included is one original composition from Donovan - the title cut "Swept Away."
