Mount Kilimanjaro, the majestic free-standing peak on the Tanzania/Kenya border, is the inspiration for this triumphant celebration of the power of will. In 2000, a group of twenty individuals embarked on a 5000+ meter trek to the mountain's summit to raise money for the Children of Crisis - a charity that aids children around the world who have fallen victim to poverty and conflict. Medwyn Goodall's score captures the illustriousness of the endeavor with spot-on instrumentation: South American panflutes, an African chorus, adventurous percussion, light guitar and synthesized atmosphere. The result is a dramatic, emotional album that lifts the spirit. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Children in Crisis foundation.
