In the sphere of Indian music, if there's one artist that seems to rise above the rest, it would be soulful songstress Deva Premal. Alongside partner Miten, this devoted duo has made the Indian mantra more approachable for Western audiences, while retaining the poetic chant of the ancient Sanskrit source material. SATSANG was recorded live during several Satsang meditation sessions in Cologne, Copenhagen, Byron Bay and San Raphael. The album is much more intimate than Premal's usual ethereal fare, and the connection that is shared with the audience is notable. Songs include Premal's "Gayatri Mantra," a few of acoustic folk tunes sung by Miten and vocal-free tracks that help listeners delve deeper into their meditative bliss.
