PC Davidoff's releases often tend to focus on the sonorities of the Asian landscape. SAGE, however, crosses the ocean to North America, where Davidoff explores the Native American flute sounds of the Lakota tribe. Although he may be exploring the traditions of a different culture, the atmosphere is no less peaceful and therapeutic. The album prominently features lonely melodies performed on the Lakota flute while the perpetual twinkle of wind chimes, no doubt blowing in the brisk wind that's heard gusting overhead, and a light layer of synthesizer ambience complete the soundscape. Davidoff's music evokes an all-encompassing sense of peace and solitude, where visions of wind-swept canyons persist and feelings of inner serenity abound.
