For the last decade, Merlin's Magic has conjured up enchantment at every turn with their angelic, therapeutic soundscapes. YOGA & AYURVEDA follows the Merlin's Magic template in that the only one track is featured; however, that one track flows and evolves continuously over its one hour running time. Unlike most of Merlin's Magic's back catalog, this album is rich with Eastern instruments, like the sitar, tabla and bamboo flute, which lend the music a decidedly mystical slant. Composition-wise, this is probably one of producer Andreas Mock's most ambitious and layered recordings to date, coming across as both powerfully ethereal and spiritual. As the title denotes, the album was created with yoga in mind, although it would fit well in the rotation for massage, reiki or any other purpose that past albums have been reliable for.
