As anyone who has ever spent a quiet August afternoon sitting on their porch with a cup of iced tea knows, the sounds of wind chimes floating on a summer breeze is a wonderful tension tamer. Those soothing sounds are the focus of the album from the Solitudes series, which features two elongated environmental tracks. The first whisks listeners away to a secluded garden, where the sounds of chimes are mixed with the flowing trickle of water from a nearby fountain and the lush music of songbirds (Wood Thrush, Mourning Warbler) overhead. The second track transports listeners to a solitary shore, where waves lap on the sandy beach, seagulls flock in the skies above and chimes sing in the distance.
