TRANCE TARA is a musical offering dedicated to Tara, the Tibetan Goddess of Compassion and Protection. Composer Jonathan Goldman's mastery of Tibetan chants, vocal harmonies and singing bowls makes a superior showing on this release. The title track, which opens the album, contains the mantric chant "Om Tara Tu Tare Svaha," while track two, "Dreaming Tara," is a mixture of dance music and entrancing Buddhist traditional music, created to evoke the Goddess with tribal drumming. Goldman is assisted on tabla and vocals by guest musicians. Both musical offerings may be used for movement, meditation and other healing arts.
