It's been awhile since Robert Haig Coxon released his last album. In the interim it appears that his inspiration has not waned. PRELUDE TO INFINITY is another gorgeous tapestry of celestial sounds designed to coax listeners along the path of inner healing. One difference between this album and Coxon's previous offerings is that he utilizes live strings to add a more "symphonic" dimension to the recording. And that it does… the music is lush and dreamy like a mellifluous film score, although any imagery it might be meant to accompany is conjured up in the mind. Synthesizers are still lightly used to enhance the mood, alongside piano, guitar and angelic choir sounds. Ethereal to the max, this is the perfect album to play when you want to simply close your eyes and drift off to wherever your imagination might take you.
