Themed after one of nature's most misunderstood and potentially valuable ecosystems, PEACEFUL POND, from flutist Dean Evenson, captures the hidden beauty of our nation's wetland regions. Prior to creating this album, Evenson traveled across the country sampling ponds and springs for the perfect location to base his compositions upon. What resulted is an album of sheer acoustic beauty, featuring a blend of handharp (Dudley Evenson), standing harp (d'Rachael), cello (Jonathan Kramer), piano, flutes and the luxurious sounds of nature. The soft, meandering melodies evoke images of warm, sunny afternoons near a quiet pond, where lilypads float by, frog croak in the background and fish swim by underfoot.
