Occasional collaborators Richard Shulman and Adriana Contino got together in the studio and recorded a series of improvisations performed using piano and cello respectively. The fruits of this session can be heard on NEW BEGINNINGS, which features exquisite melodies for inspiration, relaxing or simply daydreaming. The intuitive playing of both artists is wonderfully captured on the album's improvisations like "Gustav's Lullabye" and "American Native Prayer," on which Shulman and Contino's exchange is so fluid that it is almost as if they're having a musical conversation with their instruments. "Friendship Renewed," "Mom" and the title track were each pre-composed by Shulman and likewise touch the heart with their beauty.
