NATIVES is an improvisational exploration of the beauty and transcendence of Native American culture. This is the first collaboration between jazz and new age pianist Peter Kater and flutist R. Carlos Nakai, an album which paved the way for future ventures. The music is fairly simplistic, yet fanciful, showing the power of Nakai's flute as enhanced by Kater's lush background textures. Refreshing and beautiful, NATIVES taps into the powerful spirit of Native America.
