From the mountainous splendor of the Smokey Mountains to the Sequoia filled valleys of Yosemite National Park, each of the nation's parks has its own unique charms that make them distinct. Somerset Entertainment, home to Dan Gibson's "Solitudes" recordings, has long sought to bring the grandeur of nature into one's living room, and it's that fact that makes this tribute so fitting. Each of the eight tracks presented on this album was inspired by a preserve, namely: The Everglades, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Great Smokey Mountains, Acadia, Olympic, Denali and the Grand Canyon. The music features serene string melodies alongside nature recordings from the actual parks, resulting in a moving, transcendent experience.
