Just as humans have an affinity with soft, calming music, animals likewise can derive benefit from healing sounds. From the "Mind, Body and Soul" series of New World Music, MUSIC FOR PETS features the tender, calming music of Perry Wood alongside guidance on animal healing from Margrit Coates, a world-renowned animal communicator and authority in the field of animal therapy. The liner notes of the album offer detailed instructions on using crystals to heal animals, including methods, safety instructions and advice for preparing the stones. Perry Wood's soundtrack (which was overseen by Coates) focuses on soft, reverberated piano melodies with synthesizer orchestration in the backdrop. The album is divided into three long-play tracks: the first has a faint "Pachelbel Canon" feel, the second is in a lower key and feels very reflective and the third uses synthesizers to give the track a symphonic quality.
