For the last couple of decades, Steven Halpern has made a career out of helping people find inner peace and balance. This time around it is a younger lot that he's aiming for. MUSIC FOR BABIES features Halpern's signature instrumental style (piano, flute, electric piano, synth ambience) being applied to a collection of traditional lullabies and children's songs. The arrangements are straight-forward and, especially when the electric piano comes into play, twinkly and sweet… almost akin to listening to a soft music box. Halpern's renditions are also slowly paced so that the music acts to soothe rather than rouse. Songs include airy takes on "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Frere Jacques," "Rock-a-Bye Baby" and more.
