You have to admit - the image of day breaking over the crest of mighty mountain range is the kind of thing that makes a person want to grab a backpack and head for the wilderness. This album, from the "Solitudes" series, captures the essence of morning in the mountains, when the first rays of sunshine creep over distant peaks and blanket the valleys in warmth and illumination. The album begins by setting the listener in an environment teeming with life, including frogs, a symphony of birdsong, trickling water and other sounds. The panflute is the dominant instrument featured in the music, alongside guitar strumming, light synthesizer and piano. The entire soundscape is pastoral and soothing, offering 50 minutes of melodic bliss and natural beauty.
