Carly Simon is no stranger to the Great American Songbook. Having released three albums of standards over the course of her thirty plus year career, MOONLIGHT SERENADE is more like a progression, featuring the songstress with some of her most mature material to date. Produced by Richard Perry, who was responsible for some of Simon's biggest releases as well as Rod Stewart's multiple forays into the classics, the arrangements highlight the singer's characteristic smoky voice and present her against a backdrop of big band and light jazz orchestration. Highlights include a sultry take on "I've Got You Under My Skin" and her late night waltz "Moonlight Serenade."
