The biggest element of change on MILLENNIUM was my electric guitar performance; this was the first album where I allowed myself to use a guitar so powerfully. Most of the solos happened in one take, so there is a freshness and spontateity that characterizes each track. I also like the idea of MILLENNIUM's having long, sweeping themes made up of mini-tracks; almost like suites punctuating a classical structure. The entire album is reinventing itself every time you listen; changing elements and instruments from section to section in a highly creative way posed a technical challenge, but also helps the music to keep moving while it's morphing. Great fun!"
