Around South Texas the Tex-Maniacs are known as the "young guns of Tex-Mex." Led by Max Baca, the bajo sexto players for Flaco Jimenez, the Tex-Maniacs perform "old school" norteno in the style of Los Alegres de Teran, but they also mix it up rocking versions of "She's About A Mover." The CD is peppered with guest appearances by the likes of Flaco Jimenez and various members of Los Lobos. But the soul of the sound is the interplay between Max and ace accordion player Michael Guerra. The duo flawlessly perform a selection of tunes like "Cielito Linda" and a selection of spicy cumbias backed by a band of crack musicians.
