"Travel" is the theme of this album from acoustic masters Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel. Joined by an ensemble of guest musicians, more than usually heard on one of their releases, the duo craft selections with themes ranging from pastoral folk to Asian to Andean. One of the most notable differences between this album and many of their past releases is the use of rhythmic elements. Although Tingstad & Rumbel have used rhythms before, these are more dynamic, showing flecks of smooth jazz and electronic music amongst its light beats. In a few of the tracks, synthesizers and keyboard-derived vocalese are used to give the music an ethereal effect. Despite these changes, the music retains Tingstad & Rumbel's characteristic warmth, making it a welcome addition to their catalogue.
