The first volume in Valley Entertainment's "Celtic Woman" series introduced listeners to a line-up of stunning female vocalists specializing in modern Celtic folk music. CELTIC WOMAN 2 expands upon the concept of the first release, presenting even more vocalists (sixteen in total) and a broader spectrum of styles. Several well-known vocalists were added to the roster this time out: Maire Brennan opens the album with "Our World," Altan is featured with "Citi na gCumann" and Capercaillie offers the upbeat "Hebridean Hale-Bopp." The music is poignant and pleasing across the board, with strong melodies and clever lyricism. Artists returning from the original volume include Fiona Joyce, Rita Connolly, Marian Bradfield and Aine Furey.
