Govinda's fire and ice pairing of warm Middle Eastern sonorities and cool techno causes sensuality and passion to proliferate on ECHOES OF EDEN. Producer Shane O'Madden, with guest assistance from Chysta Bell, Jennifer Falker, Oliver Rajamani and more, crafts trippy soundscapes that exhibit traces of the "Asian Underground" sound, only handled with a smoother, more seductive flair. The basic atmosphere is ambient, with light down-tempo beats and a wealth of layered techno loops. The real flavor for the album comes from the vocals and violins, which are artfully juxtaposed to create a surreal yet serene effect. The result is moody, chilled ethno-techno that would be equally at home in a Buddha lounge or a car stereo.
