Put two world-class percussionists like James Asher and Sivamani in the studio together and sparks are bound to fly. Luckily those sparks were collected, formed into an album and DRUMS ON FIRE is the result. Asher's albums are always a joy to listen to, but this album takes things to a whole new level. The beats swirl in a dizzying kaleidoscope of overlapping rhythms, comprised of almost every type of drum imaginable, from the Irish bouzouki to the Japanese taiko to a simple plastic bucket. Backing the drum spectacle is an assortment of vocals, violins, flutes, guitar, saxophone and various other percussive textures. DRUMS ON FIRE is an adrenaline rush.
