Two of the world's great forms of beauty - nature and classical music, are paired on this album of tranquil melodies from the "Solitudes" series. Although the title of this album is CLASSICAL GARDEN, the ambiance of this recording at times suggests a light woodland where birdsong echoes off clusters of trees. Other sounds that creep into the picture include crickets, toads and the gently falling water from a fountain. The classical repertoire accessed stresses songs with an inherently nature-themed feel like Grieg's "Morning," Saint-Saens' "The Swan" and "Air" from Handel's "Water Music." The pieces are performed with warmth and subtlety on guitar and flute.
