Paramhansa Yogananda (author of the highly revered book "Autobiography of a Yogi") was largely responsible for introducing the West to the ideas of meditation, Kriya Yoga and spiritual enlightenment. Upon entering the United States in 1920, he traveled far and wide spreading his teachings about Eastern religion and drawing parallels to the beliefs of the West. This album features a series of compositions created by Yogananda, performed with ethereal grace by Gerald Jay Markoe. Incorporating instruments like harp, sitar, keyboards, cello, strings and synthesized ambience, CELESTIAL MUSIC FOR YOGA is a feast for the ears and a wonderful accompaniment for yoga practice.
