CANYON DRUMS features the rhythmic excellence of aptly played Native American drums. The album focuses on a series of compositions interweaving rattles and drums with chanting, Native American flutes and modern mood textures. The heartbeat rhythms played on these drums form the basis of the compositions that draw sonic pictures of the spacious canyons of the Southwest and other sacred sites. Peter "Wyoming" Bender drew his inspiration for this album from his Commanche heritage and his many years of involvement with the Indian movement.
