The album utilizes Far Eastern instruments like the erhu (an Asian string instrument) and yang chin (a type of zither) as well as piano, flutes and synthesizer ambience to create an atmosphere of serenity, conducive to warm baths and deep relaxation. The pieces all have a "flowing" nature, which further enhances the album's spa appeal, as does the use of gentle nature sounds like those of a rolling ocean surf, flowing stream and a forest of chirping birds.
