Patrick Bernard's ARCHANGEL MIRACLE takes the idea of heavenly music to a whole new level. The music, created in the mold of a Judeo-Christian oratorio from the classical era, is like a celestial symphony within which Bernard's achingly emotive voice flutters with porcelain fragility. A fantasia on Schubert's "Ave Maria" opens the album, and sets the stage for the melodic nature of much of the following music. He delves into a prayerful suite of Hebrew compositions themed after the Adonai, the God of the Thora, while the recording's second half features a Latin-based "Ave Maria" trio. Dense, blissful synthesizers flow through music of the album, alongside angelic choral vocals, harp, guitar and orchestration. The result is pure radiance, made all the more potent by Bernard's luminous vocals.
