Bernie Krause ventured into a tropical paradise to record this gem of a nature recording from his "Wild Sanctuary" series. Set in Zimbabwe, a land of wildlife riches located in the heart of Southern Africa, the recording captures the beauty and lushness of the environment. For example, the album opens with a gaggle of baboons, whose very unique bark-like calls resonate off the walls of a nearby cliff. A veritable symphony of avian life surrounds like listener, including exotic bird species as the natal francolin, freckled nightjar, blue-eyed bulbul and the trumpeter hornbill. You can't help but be amazed at how alive the environment is, seemingly abuzz with bird song, insect sounds and other nearby creatures, hidden amongst the foliage.
