Spontaneously composed in the Light Chamber of the United Research Light Center in Black Mountain, North Carolina, this release from Richard Shulman features compositions that clear and align the spiritual energy centers in the body (chakras). Orchestral synthesizers meld with strings, bells, horn and choir to create music in seven keys. Each is then used to express its corresponding major chakra and color of the spectrum. Both of the programs on the album begin in the key of C (root chakra/red) and move up the scale (spine and spectrum) to the key of B (crown chakra/violet).

Occasional collaborators Richard Shulman and Adriana Contino got together in the studio and recorded a series of improvisations performed using piano and cello respectively. The fruits of this session can be heard on NEW BEGINNINGS, which features exquisite melodies for inspiration, relaxing or simply daydreaming. The intuitive playing of both artists is wonderfully captured on the album's improvisations like "Gustav's Lullabye" and "American Native Prayer," on which Shulman and Contino's exchange is so fluid that it is almost as if they're having a musical conversation with their instruments.
